If you run an online coaching business, a training academy, or any program where you regularly collect feedback, track student progress, or qualify leads — you already know the pain of building Google Forms manually. Typing every question, setting up options one by one, configuring section logic, connecting responses to a spreadsheet… a single well-structured form can easily eat up an hour of your day.
Today I want to share a method that has completely changed how we build forms in our business. Using Claude AI together with Google Apps Script, we now create fully structured, multi-section Google Forms — in Malayalam, with branching logic and automatic spreadsheet linking — in under 5 minutes. And the best part? You don’t need to know a single line of code.
Let me walk you through exactly how it works.
The Problem Every Business Owner Knows
Think about how many forms a typical business needs: customer feedback forms, new client onboarding forms, appointment booking forms, event registrations, service inquiry forms, satisfaction surveys, lead qualification forms… the list never ends.
And most business owners are building every one of these manually — typing each question, adding each option one by one, fighting with the “Go to section based on answer” settings, then linking everything to a spreadsheet. A single well-structured form easily eats 45 minutes to an hour. Multiply that across a year of campaigns, and you’ve lost entire working days to form building.
Worse, most owners give up on the powerful features — like conditional sections that show different questions to different customers — simply because setting them up is confusing. So they settle for flat, one-size-fits-all forms that collect weaker data.
That’s where Claude comes in.
What You Need
Just three things — all free or things you already have:
- A Claude account — claude.ai (the free plan works for this)
- A Google account — for Google Sheets and Google Forms
- 5 minutes of your time
No coding knowledge. No paid form builders. No plugins.
The Method: Step by Step
Step 1: Describe Your Form to Claude in Plain Language
Open Claude and simply explain what you want, the way you’d explain it to a team member. For example, imagine you run a fitness studio and want to re-engage old members. Your prompt could be as simple as:
“I run a fitness studio. I want a Google Form in Malayalam for members whose membership expired in the last 6 months. Some stopped because of time issues, some moved away, some lost motivation. I want to find out why they left, whether they’d like to return, and introduce our new flexible evening batches and personal training add-on. If they’re interested, ask their preferred time slot.”
Notice what makes this prompt work:
- Described the customer segments (time issues, moved away, lost motivation)
- Explained the goal (learn why they left + reintroduce new offerings)
- Listed the key details (evening batches, personal training add-on)
- Specified the language (Malayalam)
- Hinted at the branching (“if interested, ask preferred time slot”)
The same pattern works for any business — a clinic collecting patient feedback, a boutique running a pre-launch survey, a tuition centre qualifying admission inquiries, a restaurant gathering reviews. You describe; Claude designs.
Claude will build the entire form structure for you — questions, answer options, sections, and even the strategy behind each question. It often suggests questions you wouldn’t have thought of, like asking “Which of these new features excites you most?” — a question that doubles as a soft marketing touch, because just answering it makes the customer imagine using your service again.
Step 2: Review and Refine the Form Content
Claude gives you the full form as text first — title, description, every question with its options, and notes on which questions should be required or use branching logic.
This is your chance to adjust things:
- “Make question 4 optional”
- “Add an option for EMI payment in the fee question”
- “Change the tone to be more casual”
Claude updates it instantly. This review step is important — you know your customers best, so read the questions the way your customer would.
Step 3: Ask Claude for the Apps Script Code
This is the magic step. Once you’re happy with the form content, just say:
“Give me the Apps Script code to generate this exact form.”
Claude writes a complete Google Apps Script — a small program that will build your entire form automatically, including:
- All questions in Malayalam (or any language)
- Multiple choice, paragraph, linear scale — every question type
- Section branching (e.g., students who completed the program see the upgrade section; students who dropped off see the support section)
- A benefits showcase section with your program details
- Automatic linking of responses to your Google Sheet
- Even a confirmation message shown after submission
Step 4: Run the Code in Google Sheets
Here’s the simple part:
- Open a Google Sheet (create a new one if needed)
- Go to Extensions → Apps Script
- Delete any default code and paste the code Claude gave you
- Click Save 💾, then Run ▶️
- The first time, Google will ask for permission — click Review permissions → Allow
That’s it. In a few seconds, your complete form is created. The script even writes the form’s share link and edit link into a tab in your spreadsheet, so you never lose them.
Step 5: Test and Share
Open the form preview and test the branching — choose each answer path and confirm the right sections appear. Then send the share link to your customers via WhatsApp, email, or wherever you engage them.
All responses flow automatically into your Google Sheet, ready for your follow-up workflows.
Real Example from Our Business
Using this exact method, we created a Malayalam engagement form for our regular batch students in one sitting. The form:
- Greets the student and collects their name and WhatsApp number
- Asks about their attendance level
- Routes dropped-off students to a section asking what went wrong and what support they need
- Routes everyone to a beautifully described Super Premium benefits section
- Captures their interest level, objections, and preferred call time
- Sends every response straight into our Google Sheet, where our automation (Pabbly + WATI) picks up hot leads and messages them on WhatsApp within minutes
Total time from idea to live form: about 10 minutes, including testing. Done manually, this form — with three branching sections and 12+ questions — would have taken over an hour.
Troubleshooting Tip (Learn from Our Mistake!)
If you run the script and see an error like:
TypeError: Cannot read properties of null (reading 'getId')
Don’t panic! This simply means you ran the script from script.google.com directly instead of from inside a Google Sheet. The script needs an “active spreadsheet” to link responses to.
The fix: Open your Google Sheet first, then go to Extensions → Apps Script from inside the sheet, and run it there.
And here’s the beautiful part — when we hit this error, we just screenshotted it and pasted it into Claude. Claude immediately explained the cause and gave us corrected code that creates a new spreadsheet automatically if needed. Debugging becomes a conversation, not a Google search marathon.
Why This Method Is a Game-Changer
1. Speed — Forms that took an hour now take minutes.
2. Perfect regional language support — Claude writes fluent, natural Malayalam (or Tamil, Hindi, Kannada — any language). No awkward Google Translate phrasing.
3. Strategy built in — Claude doesn’t just write questions; it thinks like a marketer. It suggested objection-handling questions, testimonial permission questions, and answer options that double as sales bridges — things we wouldn’t have thought of ourselves.
4. Branching logic without headaches — Setting up “Go to section based on answer” manually is confusing. The script handles it perfectly every time.
5. Reusable — Once you have the script, you can modify it for the next batch, the next program, the next campaign. Just ask Claude to adjust it.
6. Fits into your automation stack — Since responses land in Google Sheets, they connect seamlessly with tools like Pabbly Connect, WATI, and Zoho for automated WhatsApp follow-ups.
Pro Tips for Best Results
- Give Claude context about your customers. The more you explain your segments and goals, the smarter the form design.
- Run the script only once. Each run creates a new form. If you need changes, ask Claude to modify the code, delete the old form from Google Drive, and run again.
- Always test the branching before sharing the link.
- Add an incentive in your form invitation message (e.g., “Everyone who fills the form gets a free bonus checklist”) — it can double your response rate.
- Screenshot any errors and paste them to Claude. It will debug them for you.
Final Thoughts
AI tools like Claude aren’t just for writing essays or answering questions — they’re practical business assistants. This one method alone has saved our team hours every week and made our student engagement far more professional and systematic.
If you’re running any kind of coaching, training, or community business, try this method for your next feedback or engagement form. Describe, generate, run — done.
